Nerd talk
Me: Currently installing a 2 TB hard drive to my cpu and then backing up all my files. Found out the damn thing was running an old os.
Mike: Lol aww nerd talk
Me: Lol. True, Mac nerd talk. Though a familiar problem to you pc user too I presume.
Mike: I did do tech support for mac os x. You got any friends you can take it to? By "friends" I'm referring to the feminine sort.
Me: Why female?
Mike: Because I'm still single, and nerd talk is attractive.
Me: Ov vey. I think I can find someone. Or go to IT at the school and drive all the nerdy computer techs crazy. I might get a date out of it. Hmm, decisions, decisions...

We all know Netflix instant watch is a hit-or-miss, but this evening I stumbled across this little gem of an offbeat indie flick while browsing for a light-hearted comedy to watch while eating dinner.
From Rotten Tomatoes:
In this independent comedy, Justin (Thomas Middleditch) is a twentysomething slacker who has a hard time getting out of bed before noon and works part-time mowing lawns...

Copyright laws will never be perfect.
If we had copyright laws before 1710:
Shakespeare’s great great great (etc) grand kids would be making bank off all the movies that are made today.
James Cameron would have never gotten away with Avatar.
Genres of music that rely on quotation and variation wouldn’t be what they are today—jazz, rap, hip-hop, pop, rock, and even classical music. Many of such examples were...
Legit.
Salsa Wisdom:
Roast the tomatoes if you want it to be a rich red color.
Aim for 3:2 or 1:1 ratio of tomato to onion (in volume).
Don’t throw out the jalapeno/serrano seeds, you may need them later to add heat.
If you do throw them out and find that you wish you hadn’t, adding onion will do the trick pretty well.
Do everything to taste. Doesn’t taste right? You probably forgot the salt.

Never watch movies from your childhood that are...
… Except Space Jam. That movie is exactly as great as you remember it to be.
Fact:
Collaborating with Danger Mouse was the best thing The Black Keys could have done to keep on the incline. El Camino is amazing.
I am so sick of being in social situations where one of my guy friends makes some demeaning or derogatory generalization about women and then turns to me and says “No offense”. Oh yeah? You suggest that I—being one of the female population—am incapable of defending myself in combat, am easy enough to fall for men who dress well or are buff, am incapable of writing a review...
New Years
is probably the weirdest holiday. It doesn’t seem like we’re counting down to a new year, but just waiting for some big change to happen. But really the biggest change is switching your mindset to write the new year on your checks and documents. That’s the only thing that’s legitimately different. Beyond that what significance does the changing of the year...

Rondino
I finally figured out the composer of that rondino I learned from the original The Sims game: Rameau. Oh, and there are about 100 videos of Asian children on youtube playing it better than I can. At least I get the satisfaction of saying I learned it by ear. And of my own volition no less!
